What is the Board of Trustees all about?

At Frimley School we have a Board of Trustees comprising 5 Parent elected Trustees, 1 staff elected Trustee and the Principal.

The Board of Trustees has an important strategic role within the school. They work alongside the Principal to set the strategic direction of the school, the schools aims and objectives and ensure it is resourced to achieve those goals. While there are nationally set frameworks we must work within, each school has opportunity to set it's own improvement strategy and kaupapa (purpose).

Being a Trustee is a rewarding and sometimes challenging role. It is a great way to support the school and be involved in the education your child is receiving. To be able to bring the voice of our community to the table effectively you need to be committed to the role. This means that you can:

  • Commit to two formal meetings of the Board each term
  • Keep up  to date with emails and background reading
  • stay connected with the school
  • undertake any training that might be offered to Trustees
