House Competition

We are now into the third year of the House System at Frimley, and it is going extremely well.

House spirit is growing by the term, and competitive event.

House leaders proudly wear their badge on their uniform to recognise their position.

The house colours make for more spirited, competitive, and enjoyable inter-house competitions.  Each house receives a lot of support from their own students, teachers, and even the parents; they turn up to school wearing colours in support of their child/ren's house.

We have many events coming up in 2010.  You can check out all the details on each house page, as well as see the results, and points by clicking on the pages in the side directory.

HISTORY

2009 saw the re-introduction of a House System at Frimley,

The teachers offered suggestions for what the houses were to be called, and we settled on the four main roads that surround Frimley - Ikanui, Lyndurst, Nottingley, and Pakowhai.

We use the House System to have greater interaction across the year levels of the school by running sporting, and cultural competitions over the year; it certainly adds colour and spice to all the events - even the parents join in by wearing their child's house colour on sports days!

Every time an Awesome Award is handed out, the student receives a point for their House.  At the Friday Assembly, the Awesome Award Shield is presented to the House that received the most awards for the week.  The house that has the most Awesome Awards at the end of each term will be given points towards the Frimley School House Cup competition.  The Awesome Award shield is presented weekly, to the winners of the previous week.

The other shields that are handed out all hang above the stage for the students, parents, and visitors to see whom the current champions are.
