BEACH DAY

Wow! What an awesome day we had at Westshore Beach on Thursday 18th February. We learnt so many interesting rules to follow to keep ourselves safe during the summer months.  We learnt all about surf lifesaving, IRB’s, rips and rescue tubes and had a chance to dive into the warm sea water later on in the afternoon! SPLASH!!!!! The boogie boarding began and everyone participated amazingly well! We hope we can go back to the beach again!

We learnt to …

SLIP!   SLOP!   SLAP!  and WRAP to keep ourselves protected from the violent sun. Ask your parents what they think these 4 verbs stand for…

We also learnt to…

ü    Always swim between the flags.

ü    Stay with an adult when you are swimming.

ü    Never swim alone

ü    Know your limits (Can you really swim that well in the deep, strong surf?)

ü    If in doubt, stay out!

ü   Always listen to the lifeguards

Who are we rescuing in the photo below?

I wonder if it is going to be cold???
