Room 11

Flower Show

On Thursday 18th March we got very creative as we made out entries for the Middle School Flower Show.  There were 4 categories and we all entered 2 creations.
    The categories were...
         Sand Saucer
         Aqua Jar
         Miniature Garden
         Vegetable Creation
Our judges had a difficult decision to make when selecting the winners.  They were looking at use of colour, thought and effort, as well as originality.  Room 11 did exceptionally well and Miss Hansen was proud of us all.

Camp Day

On Friday 12th March the Middle School participated in Camp Day to learn skills that would help us when we get to go to camp as Seniors.  We also learned to follow instructions and rules, work together in pairs, teams and as a class, and experience something new.  It was so much fun.  We got to put up and take down tents, create bivouacs that we could take shelter in, program roamer robots (BBs) to follow a path, cook smores YUMMY, follow directions from a buddy while blindfolded then give directions to my buddy while they are blindfolded and trap air in the parachute.   We had a barbeque lunch with fresh apples and pears and delicious juice.

Thank you to all the parents that joined us.  We really appreciate how enthusiastic you all are to help us out with all out trips and activities.

Beach Day

On Tuesday 16th February we went to Westshore Beach with Room 14.  It was an AWESOME day!  The lifeguards taught us how to be safe in the surf.  Ethan rescued a drowning Luke on a surf ski, Jorja rescued a swimmer in trouble as Ethan drove the inflatable rescue boat (irb) and Brandon dressed up in lifeguard clothing to show us how to be SUNSMART. To do this we need to...

Slip on a shirt

Slop on some sunscreen

Slap on a hat

Wrap on some sunnies.

We learned 5 rules to remember every time we go swimming at a beach, river or lake.  They are...

1. Never swim or surf alone.

2. Always have an adult watch over you.

3. Swim between the flags.

4. Know your limits.

5. If in doubt, stay out!

Check out the photos below to see how much fun we had!
