Room 10 :
The focus for middle school in term 1 is BEACH SAFETY and being SUN SMART. Room 10 was lucky enough to take part in the beach education that took place out at Westshore on the 18th of February. We were accompanied by Room12, Room13 and all the wonderful parents for a fun filled day of good things and bad things that we need to be aware of when we are going to go swimming on the beach. We learnt a new rap "slip, slop and slap" and what the surf life guards do in their rescue boat. We also learnt about how the safest place to swim in between the flags. It was an awesome day which we will never forget.
BUDDY CLASS!!! Woo hoo we had our first session today in buddy class and it was fantastic. Each person in Room 10 chose a person from Room 20 and once they were teamed up they talked about things they liked. Then it was Room 20's duty to put all of Room 10 people through the outdoor course without touching the ground. They made it too the end, with big smiles on their faces well done. Can't wait for the next session to occur.
SWIMMING SPORTS: Well swimming sports started off with an exciting bang with a short walk down to the aquatic centre all dressed up in our house colours. First off was competitive swimming with Emma Bull, Cullen Abraham-Smith and Lilly Brittin making it into the competitive sports with the seniors well done to them. Then we had house competitions within the year 3 team and everyone in room 10 gave it a fantastic go. I was so proud to see everyone taking part and cheering people on during these swimming races. Finally our novelty races were funny but relied on team work. Fantastic effort from everyone who participated in the swimming pool, well done!!!
