Room 16 - 2010

Room 16 Mission Statement.

Our  goal is to be a Triple A class. We are building friends in the classroom and outside that shows we RESPECT others for who they are. We are RESPONSIBLE for our actions and as we REFLECT on our actions so we will change. We will be more successful if we RECOGNISE that our Attitudes and Actions  are  linked to the Key Competencies and Habits of Mind.

Welcome to Room 16. We are a year 4/5 class at Frimley school Hastings. This photo of the class was taken in early February.

This year as well as  focussing on the key Competencies, we will be interlinking them with the Habits of Mind. In the Key Competencies we are learning how to Manage ourselves, Participate and Contribute, Relate to others, Think,  and Use language, symbols and texts. The Habits of Mind are key traits or characteristics that successful people continually use to help them achieve. There are 16 of these, but this term we have taken the  three of Persistence, (sticking to it) Thinking Interdependently, ( working together) and Managing Impulsivity, ( think before you act) and linked them with the Key Competencies of Managing Self and Relating to others.

Term one

The year 5 children went to Camp Kaitawa in March and have made a Poster using Comic Life to depict how they used the Habits of mind at camp.

The Year 4 children had a camp day at school, and have also made a poster showing how they needed to use the Habits of Mind on their Camp Day.
