Principal's Message

Greetings

Thank you for coming to investigate the Frimley Primary School website.  My name is Malcolm Dixon and I am very proud to have been the Principal of Frimley Primary School since 1993.  It is indeed an honour to be leading such an outstanding learning community.

Frimley Primary School is a U6 Decile 3 contributing school with a lovely blend of cultures that probably represent a snapshot of what exists throughout New Zealand. Our Board of Trustees and Parent Teachers Association in conjunction with a very dedicated and stable staff strive to provide a quality education for every pupil in order to develop his / her natural abilities to their fullest extent.

Literacy and numeracy has always been a priority at Frimley. Our point of difference is that we are one of a very few contributing schools that employs its own specialist music and computer teachers. In addition to this 2009 saw the introduction of boys and girls only classes at the Yr 5 / 6 level. This is proving to be a very successful new initiative. We are always looking for new idea’s and challenges to investigate and any feedback from the wider community is always appreciated.

Over recent years we have achieved a number of notable academic, cultural and sporting awards and achievements. The most prestigious being named as the Goodman Fielder N.Z.School of the Year in 2001.  Since that time we have continued to build on our success through extensive professional development, leading Information Communication Technology and Extending High Standards across Schools contracts.

All of our ERO reports have been outstanding.

“ The school community embraces the core values contained within its Triple A vision of “ Attitude,Action, Achievement.”  High behavioural and academic expectations exist for all students. Accessible, high quality resources are well targeted, link to strategic direction, and contribute to a learning environment highly conducive to success.  The board and staff focus on creating and maintaining an environment where Maori students feel confident and valued.” (ERO 2007.)

I really enjoy chatting with children, parents, ex pupils and prospective parents. Please feel free to make contact with the school office.
